Clipping a video

Links, uploads, clip styles, length and the scored grid.

Sources

Paste a YouTube / Twitch / Kick / X link, or upload a video file. For YouTube, fibula prefers the platform's own captions (fast); anything without captions is transcribed with Whisper automatically.

Clip settings

  • Clip style — what the curator hunts for. 15 built-in styles plus your own custom prompts.
  • Clip length — Auto (0–3 min) by default; constrain it if a platform demands shorter.
  • Format — 16:9 keeps the original frame; 9:16 engages speaker-tracking reframe for vertical.
  • Captions — 31 live-previewed styles, three sizes, word-timed.
  • Max clips — up to 20 per run; fibula ranks them so you keep the best.
  • Tighten clips — Off, Fillers (remove ums and dead air), or Smart (AI removes boring stretches or hits a target length — every cut reviewable).
  • Most-replayed first — biases curation toward the sections YouTube viewers rewatch.
  • AI B-roll — licensed stock cutaways matched to what's being said.

The grid

Clips arrive scored 0–10 with reasoning. The score is the curator's judgment of hook strength, self-containment and shareability — treat it as a ranked shortlist, not gospel. Click a clip for the detail view: preview, transcript excerpt, post copy per platform, re-clip buttons for other ratios, and every export action.
